Abstract

The proposed program is for the development of a high repetion rate, high power multiple beam suitable for use in broadband multiple beam amplifiers. The major objectives of the proposed Phase II program are to fabricate, assemble, and test a multiple beam gun capable of powering an S-band multiple beam klystron (MBK), using the configuration developed and optimized during Phase I. This work will be performed in conjunction with our industrial partner, which will fabricate the gun at its highly specialized facilities. The program is structured to provide the fastest possible route to a functional, well-characterized multiple-beam gun that is ready for insertion into a high-power broadband MBK.
