The Air Force is looking to develop an open-air jamming and interference test capability, that does not require jamming clearance from the FAA. The system must be able to provide realistic system level tests for GPS receivers, antennas, and amplifiers. Bedford Signals proposes the advanced development of innovative technologies to enable a Completely Integrated Jamming Test System (CIJTS): an Electromagnetic Wavefront Generator, digital exact delay and Doppler for jammer modulation and carrier, and frequency dependent channel modeling. The baseline CIJTS design supports 12 sources per band, and can correctly generate a multipath wavefront for a seven element CRPA. Frequency dependent channel models are developed on a computer workstation, and can be stored in the DIG. Multiple carrier frequencies (L1, L2, L5) are supported by linking multiple DIG boards. The EWG can be calibrated to support all frequencies that the antenna array does. Total system cost will be orders of magnitude less than analog wavefront simulators, but channel modeling will be much more realistic.
