Abstract

New methodologies are being developed for interrupting the Lyme Disease transmission cycle, includiacaricides in reducing an infected tick population, control of Peromyscus spp. by environmental manirodenticidal treatment, and deer population management. A systemic, orally administered acaricide ef(particularly immature statges of Ixodes dammini), feeding on treated animals could break the tick lof rodent baits containing the acaricide are integral for success of this methodology. A delivery syprovide an acceptable and attractive bait to rodents which will reduce the attachment rate and/or kisystem shall be non-toxic to rodents.
