An Integrated Data Compression and Encryption Algorithm

The MDA is seeking integrated data compression and encryption algorithms for highly secure, high-speed data flow to support missile tracking over wide area networks. This new solution will significantly improve and facilitate real-time coordination of Theater Missile Defense (TMD) weapon system elements, and provide seamlessly efficient processing of mission critical information over geographically separated TMD facilities and personnel. To address this demand, Broadata Communications, Inc. (BCI) proposes to develop a novel, high-speed, highly-secure, data marking technology (HiMARK). The HiMark algorithm seamlessly integrates data compression and encryption into one entity, thus compounding the effectiveness in the reduction of operational complexity, cost, and latency. During Phase I, BCI has demonstrated that integrated encryption and compression based on the HiMark technology can provide significantly improved encryption, compression and fidelity, simultaneously. The goal of this Phase II project is to further develop and optimize the HiMark technology and to produce a full-scale generic software system module. The HiMark software system module will be a solid product foundation for Phase III commercialization.
