Abstract:
This proposal is for the design and development of a new low cost directional acoustic sensor technology with integrated acoustic modem capabilities for distributed sensor systems. The study addresses the feasibility to significant improve legacy performance of current A-size directional sonobuoy sensors with a new sensor and processing approach and to establish performance predictions for the new sensor/system for the smaller MJU-10 size sonobuoys and distributed sensors.
