Liquid Metal Anodes for a JP-8 Fuel Cell

This work will explore the relevant parameter space and continue development of a sulfur-tolerant, direct JP-8 fuel cell using the liquid tin anode SOFC. This work will review potential liquid metal anodes for direct JP-8 applications followed by a characterization of the physical processes involved in power production. A mathematical model will be developed to predict the behavior of the cell, individual components and key processes. Finally, a conceptual study of a 500 Watt power source based on the liquid tin anode will be developed.
