Abstract:

TRS Technologies will build on the measurements performed in the Phase I program, which will allow for higher fidelity models and a more streamlined insertion of single crystal transducers into the Navy. Dynamic and bend testing of PMN-PT and modified A and B-site doped crystals will be made to better understand the tensile strength behavior of single crystal. Self-consistent temperature-dependent dielectric, piezoelectric and dielectric properties will be measured. This will be used to develop 1-3 composite and Tonpilz projectors, which will be tested both within the base program and into the options. Beam patterns and TVR will be determined and compared with the models developed in the program.
