Abstract:
"Cleveland Medical Devices Inc. proposes to design and develop a test system where the installation and maintenance of a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) will become simple and routine. The device will be a low cost handheld unit that has a simple userinterface for less skilled users and also have more sophisticated capability for those tough to identify problems. It will have a go/no go mode for quick check out and also more in-depth capabilities all the way up to a 802.11 network emulator. The device will simplify Wireless LAN installation. It will allow the RF environment to be analyzed, device placement to be tested and optimized, and the overall system to be optimized. The Wireless LAN Analyzer with Transmitter will simplify installingwireless networks. It will allow minimally trained technicians to efficiently optimize the installation of wireless networks, without an RF engineer. In those instances where an RF engineer supervises a number of technicians, the device is programmable, allowing the RF engineer to preprogram the screens, simplifing the technicians job, while allowing collecting and analyzing data for future review by the RF engineer."
