Abstract:
A methodology is proposed to provide intelligence to more classical global optimization schemes. By incorporating these methods, design engineers will be able to not only identify and resolve difficulties within an antenna element, but will be able to synthesis and optimize an entire array, including the antenna elements, feed structures, array position and shape, element location and orientations, and any number of material and physical parameters. The techniques will be equally valuable to the designer of the individual antenna element as well as the designer of ESAs.
