Abstract

The structured Essential Model for Mine Warfare (SEMMIW) will serve as an analysis tool for resource sponsors and decision-makers to make program decisions in Mine Warfare (MIW) system development. SEMMIW will allow users to determine quantitative requirements for mine countermeasures and mining. The proposed effort will use the Booch method of object-oriented analysis to develop candidate solutions for SEMMIW design in Phase I. In the Phase I option period, two architectures will be proposed for detailed mapping in Phase II. An important part of SEMMIW development will be the development and selection of MIW models for integration in SEMMIW. Wagner Associates will use models studied or developed in our analysis of environmental effects on mine warfare for the Naval Research Laboratory.
