Abstract

This Phase II project will demonstrate large-scale agent-based integration of distributed missile defense information systems during live missile tests. During FY03 and FY04 Global Reachback demonstrations, we will demonstrate automatic, near-real-time 1) ingest of large amounts of remote sensor and telemetry data into a common repository, 2) translation of data into customer-specific formats, 3) creation of customer-specific visualizations, and 4) distribution of data and products to local and remote customers. As Global Reachback provides near-real-time radar and telemetry data from the Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands to the Missile Defense Data Center in Huntsville, AL, our agents will provide missile defense information systems with translation and brokering services, and will provide end-users with customized visualization and data fusion products. The resulting middleware architecture, SOAPi ServicesT, will be based on XML/SOAP, and will provide a common, extensible, commercially supported, and standards-based format for management and exchange of missile defense, other military, and commercial data across the enterprise. SOAPi ServicesT will include COTS data management software, as well as tools and templates for the reuse and extension of schemas and agents to satisfy new customer requirements.
