Abstract:
The UGS/IMS gateway node is an important aspect of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) network. The gateway node provides UGS networks with long haul communications and can be used to perform mission tasks such as perimeter defense, surveillance, target acquisition and situational awareness (SA), including Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) early warning. The UHF RF diplexer allows the two transceivers located within the UGS/IMS gateway node to share one common antenna. DataSoft's goal is to enhance the performance of the current diplexer using advanced filter techniques and to implement the design using Integrated Passive Devices to maintain the size required for UGS/IMS integration. As a partner with General Dynamics on the JTRS Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Fit (HMS) program, DataSoft is familiar with the complex performance and mechanical requirements demanded by the HMS program is uniquely positioned to integrate the proposed diplexer design into the UGS/IMS gateway node.
