Prediction Methodology for Manufacturing Readiness Assessments

Vertical Operations Management stems from a confluence of advanced technology and new business philosophy. Both are emerged into a practical application of lean thinking, enhancing factory operations, providing proactive responses, and improving efficiencies. VOM is the catalyst for recognizing and mitigating manufacturing risk through identifying choke-points causing yield limitations. This proposal includes problem examination through existing production scenarios and current supply chain performance. Phase I results evolve into a Phase II total enterprise structure for commercial use. Phase II technical objectives provide predictive yield and manufacturing readiness assessments. Innovative concepts for cultural change, RFID tags, interactive mapping tools, and built-in intelligence are discussed. The work plan and commercialization strategy are defined. VOM is the enabler for the Factory of the Future, provides tools supporting totality of manufacturing operations, and utilizes IT concepts to proactively alert decision makers and stakeholders. Stakeholders become integral with the manufacturing process and have real-time alerts and wide access to information. Confidence is restored to predictive adeptness. Stakeholders, from customer to low-tier suppliers, reap benefits. VOM increases supply chain involvement, embellishes reports, and generates esthetic graphics. VOM contains built-in responses, utilizes improved tools, employs advanced technology, and expands knowledge sharing. VOM is the keystone to predictive methodology and manufacturing readiness assessments.
