The objective of this effort is to define key technical requirements, identify enabling technologies, conduct technology experiments, develop a system specification, provide an implementation approach, and develop a demonstration plan for a Collaborative Engineering Real Time Database Correlation Tool to support the development and correlation of databased required for the success of a collaborative engineering process. DRA proposes to harness the latest in analysis and database technology by applying object oriented design paradigms to produce a design which incorporates flexibility and standarization to effectively and efficiently meet the requirements of the Electronic Combat community (both real time and non real time) as well as other applications. DRA will maximize the flexibility in the design by implementing standards such as those developed for the Joint Modeling and Simulation System (J-MASS) while applying innovative technologies such as relational database and CASE tools to further insure the applicability of the designed system to a broad range of applications. The sytem specification will emcompass an analysis of the full range of relational database technologies. The resulting design will reflect the optimum implementation of technologies based on a thorough trade-off analysis and the incorporation of critical tehnologies to support future maintainability thus ensuring a design which is implementable and cost effective.
