Simulation Based Concurrent Planning And Development System
Agency / Branch:
DOD / NAVY
The Navy has identified Distributed Simulation-Based Acquisition (DSBA) as the approach for developing and implementing future acquisition programs. DSR proposes building a Simulation Based Concurrent Planning and Development System that would achieve this goal. At present the market has been inundated with an overwhelming number of products that could potentially contribute to this simulation based acquisition goal. Additionally, the Navy, as well as the other services, has made a significant investment in performance models and simulation based design. The opportunity and challenge is to analyze and assess the state of the art technology and existing "legacyN models in order to determine the best approach for conducting this revolutionary Distributed Simulation-Based Acquisition. DSR will utilize its proven expertise in this area to develop innovative techn ques or accomplishing Distributed Simulation-Based Acquisition. DSR proposes reviewing all pertinent and applicable technologies, identifying the credible methods for conducting DSBA, and then designing and building Simulation Based Concurrent Planning and Development System in order to reap the full advantages of simulation based acquisition. The objective of this effort is to conduct an analytic feasibility study that proposes: - A Simulation Based Concurrent Planning and Development System (SBCP&DS) design; - An SBCP&DS implementation approach; 0 An SBCP&DS demonstration plan.
