Abstract:
Megapixel ferroelectric liquid crystal on silicon displays have been demonstrated with monochrome images having one bit of gray scale. The proposed work would develop color and gray scale techniques to allow operation with red, green and blue primary colors having five or more bits of gray scale. Specifications would be developed under Phase I for a prototype display including the complete system architecture and drive electronics.
