An Analytical Model for Evaluation of Warhead Performance and Lethality

A fast running analytical tool is proposed which will allow warhead developers and systems analysts the capability to evaluate warhead designs, analyze and predict test results, determine performance requirements, and evaluate system effectiveness. A modular software architecture will be designed to provide maximum growth and maintainability. The tool will incorporate a Graphical User Interface to decrease the knowledge required to perform assessments. warhead/target interactions will be modeled using high fidelity penetration mechanics models that are widely accepted. BENEFITS: This analytical model will allow warhead developers to analyze and predict test results. The tool will also allow systems analysts to perform design-level trade-off studies and what-if analyses. This product will be beneficial to warhead developers, missile system developers, government evaluators, oil well perforator designers, and space debris analysts.
