Surfaces which can be actively adjusted to provide color matching with a changing background would be extremely valuable for real time control of surface optical properties required in future Army scenarios. In this regard, electrochromic materials havebeen demonstrated which exhibit deep modulation over a broad region of the electromagnetic spectrum. We propose here a new concept in electrochromic coating for producing uniform, flexible, long cycle life, environmentally robust electrochromic cells forsurface application.
