Abstract:
The objective of this Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project is to develop an advanced simulation tool for the modeling of near ground radio wave propagation. The new algorithms will incorporate ground waves in addition to space ways in a shoot-and-bounce-rays (SBR) simulator that is part of EMAG Technologies' 3D electromagnetic simulation environment, EMLOUNGE. This is hybridized with a full-wave simulator based on the versatile Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique. The latter simulator can handle complex radiators and scatterers in the presence of a multilayer lossy ground. The two simulation engines are integrated within a common 3D CAD modeling environment with extensive visualization tools.
