Abstract:
In this Phase II effort, Fibertek will implement designs for integrated electronic pulsed power and thermal control modules demonstrated in Phase I prototypes. These electronics modules feature novel higher efficiency power conversion and control circuitry. The pulsed power modules will be realized in multichip modules or ASICs for weight and size reduction. The circuit architecture developed permits the energy storage components which drive size and weight to be minimized. The electronic modules are designed to power next-generation diode-pumped laser systems, which will feature higher efficiency and lower size, weight and cost. Potential applications include space-based sensors and military remotely piloted vehicles.
