Abstract
Improved solid performance is needed to meet Integrated High Payoff Rocket Propulsion Technology (IHPRPT) Program goals. The principal objective of this program is to synthesize new hydroxy-terminated oligomers for use in polyurethane binders. These novel oligomers will contain trinitromethyl groups to provide major performance advantages compared to currently used propellant components. The materials are expected to have good low-temperature properties, acceptable high-temperature properties, and to be compatible with nitroplasticizers.
