Automated Shipboard Dishwashing System
Agency / Branch:
DOD / NAVY
This study seeks to identify approaches for automating the scullery operations onboard U.S. Department of Navy ships. The objective is to reduce labor and costs associated with routine mess gear separation, scraping, washing, drying and stowage. The project team will capitalize on experience gained from earlier work performed by the University of Oklahoma and knowledge of other team members to develop strategies for reliably and predictably segregating, handling, transporting, and verifying the cleanliness of all mess gear within the space and operational limitations imposed by the ship scullery. Emphasis will be on the application of robust, proven technology to perform the materials handling and verification tasks. Guild will work jointly with one or more commercial dishwashing manufacturers to create a system that finds acceptance in the commercial as well as the military marketplace.
