Abstract:
Robotic vehicle applications requires significant information about the nature of the terrain and objects ahead. Spectral and polarization measurements in addition to normal spatial intensity information provides the kind of data needed for real time decision making for robotic vehicle control and target detection and identification. This proposal is for a sensor that provides spatial, spectral, and polarization data sets simultaneously in real time. This proposed Phase 2 SBIR project builds on developments at the University of Arizona's Optical Detection Laboratory and will provide the most versatile and capable sensor developed to date.
