Abstract:

There is a clear need for improved anti-friction bearing elements that will sustain high mechanical stresses while operating at high temperatures. IGR's proposed Phase I (and II) SBIR work will develop bearings that a recent advance in lubrication technology. In this work a "double hybrid" approach to rolling bearings is proposed.
