Abstract:

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF CONVERTING THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE DRUG INFORMATION SYSTEM (DIS) SOFTWARE FROM DEC-10 COMPUTER TO A 32-BIT COMPUTER ENVIRONMENT. 2.SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS OF THE TARGET MACHINE. 3.RECOMMENDED SELECTION OF THE TARGET MACHINE. 4.TECHNIQUES FOR TRANSFERRING THE SOURCE CODE AND THE DATABASE FROM DEC-10 COMPUTER TO THE TARGET MACHINE. 5.DIFFICULTIES AND EFFORTS NEEDED TO CONVERT THE FORTRAN-77 SOURCE CODES. 6.DIFFICULTIES AND EFFORTS NEEDED TO CONVERT THE DATABASE FROM THE DEC-10 COMPUTER TO THE TARGET MACHINE.
