Abstract:

AN INVESTIGATION OF A NOVEL APPROACH TO APPLYING LINEAR QUADRATIC OPTIMIZATION THEORY TO THE PROBLEM OF DESIGNING SMALL PERTURBATION FEEDBACK REGULATORS FOR NONLINEAR PLANTS IS PROPOSED. THE CLASS OF PLANTS CONSIDERED CONSIST OF THOSE WHICH CAN BE MODELLED AS LINEAR SYSTEMS WHOSE DYNAMICS VARY WITH OPERATING CONDITION. THE PROPOSED METH LOGY INVOLVES THE SOLUTION OF BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS IN THEPARAMETER SPACE OF THE PLANT OPERATING REGIME.
