NEURAL NETWORKS TO IDENTIFY ANGIOGENESIS
Not Available Applied Visions, Inc. (AVI) proposes to design visualization aids to significantly enhance cyber defense situational awareness. Building upon our existing body of work on the visualization of network security events, we will design, demonstrate and assess visual representations of two categories of information: 1) the relationships between cyber security events (e.g. probes, intrusions) and military mission areas (e.g. logistics, intelligence); and 2) temporal changes in cyber security events. In addition, AVI will identify methods to facilitate the rapid association of security breaches to critical mission operations. The automated or semi-automated association of mission areas to security events will streamline the process of assessing the impact of security breaches on mission areas and support the visual representation of that information. Phase I will be devoted to defining the key information needed in the visual representations, designing several alternative visual representations, and demonstrating selected visualizations using test scenarios and a test data base developed by AVI. Phase I will also include the assessment of available tools and methods for rapid association of the mission areas and security events. Phase II will scale up the most promising visual representations into a working system that can be evaluated in a real world environment.
