Abstract:
The objective of this Phase II program is to develop and demonstrate a high performance heat exchanger technology for military ground vehicles such as the up-armored HMMWV. Mezzo will build a heat exchanger that is more compact, provides improved heat transfer performance, and meets the demands of the harsh environments (such as resistance to sand and dirt fouling) to which military vehicles and their components are subjected. This program will focus on the HMMWV radiator to demonstrate the technology, but the results can also be applied to a wide range of military vehicle and types of heat exchangers.
