Abstract

ISC proposes an innovative IR sensor that will be affordable, all aspect, defensive and offensive sensor system with a 3D architecture using modular components. This sensor system combines Threat Warning (TW), Infrared Search Track (IRST), Countermeasure Cueing and Situational Awareness into one sensor system. The 3D-Air Combat EO System will incorporate a detector attached to a 3D preprocessor that has non-uniformity correction, analog to digital conversion and spatial filtering for background clutter rejection and elimination of platform motion in the scene to a one-tenth of a pixel. 3D-ACES will be conformal to the skin of the host aircraft. this will all be achieved using a commercial manufacturing process to keep cost to a minimum. 3D-ACES promotes the Air Force's "long term innovation" and "sytem vision" for situtaion awareness.
