Robust Survivable Switched Architecture Computer

New computer systems based on a "switched" architecture are emerging commercially and promise to revolutionize multi-processor systems used in real-time applications. JAYCOR and its subcontractor Concurrent Computer Corporation propose to develop a robust high performance-switched architecture computer which will provide the processing power required by current and future BMDO systems. The proposed processor will be fault tolerant, reconfigurable and capable of operating through both natural space radiation environments and present nuclear threat scenarios. During Phase I the proven processor hardening methods and technologies developed under the DNA Operate Through Program will be applied and extended to address the unique features associated with the switched architecture. A design/development plan will also be prepared during Phase I to facilitate a transition of the robust switched architecture computer from a conceptual design into a fully operational breadboard which will be used for extensive test and evaluation during a Phase II program.
