"Diversity and the changing nature of the product and the process makes MRO management highly complex. Modeling is the only way to understand such complex systems. Decision makers at different levels require different degrees of abstraction. There is no"silver bullet" that serves all purposes. To be effective a modeling environment must interoperate with the myriad of existing systems through a common portal. ODSS will enhance proven technology for rapid creation and application of simulation modelingfor Depot management decision support. The goal of this project is to integrate rule based simulation generation and execution with data mining and optimization for the rapid architecting and parameterization of models. Portal users have access tovolumes of data. Data mining automates the process of isolating the "controlling" relationships in the data. It supports regression of instance data into parameters appropriate for the abstraction level required for the decision at hand. ODSS will be apoint-of-discovery process assessment tool useful by all levels of MRO management for optimizing plans, schedules, situation response, and process designs. Decision makers could rapidly specify, analyze, compare and select the optimal decision strategybased on a quantitative analysis of the impact in both scheduled and surge-critical production scenarios. The ODSS would be applicable across commercial MRO production domains. Applications in
