Award Amount:

Abstract:
The Transformation in Maintenance & Repair (XFMR, pronounced "transformer") technology is designed complement the methods and tools currently used by maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) managers in their application of a Critical Chain Program Management (CCPM) discipline to dynamically adjust plans and schedules and guide work on the shop floor. The XFMR technology set includes Critical Chain planning methods (e.g., for constraint discovery and explicit capture, buffer consumption cause identification), Critical Chain algorithms (e.g., pipeline definition and re-netting algorithms), and Critical Chain deconfliction decision aids. Taken together, these elements provide a foundation for exploiting the largely untapped potential of CCPM to solidify warfighter confidence in the Air Force depots to deliver what's promised, at the promised time, at the promised cost, all the time.
