Network-Centric Communications: Distributed Real-Time UAV Access
Agency / Branch:
DOD / USAF
This proposal contains Kutta Consulting's approach for the development and integration of a Human Computer Interface Distributed Real-time UAV Access System (HCI DUAS) into the Vigilant Spirit UCAV simulator at the AFRL. The Phase II development efforts address the need of HCIs to the GIG for UAV interoperability, access to imagery, collection plans, sensor re-tasking, and mission route re-tasking. Technical objectives related to the development and integration of a proposed solution include: knowledge models, decision aids, autonomous agents, and a distributed UAV access system. A detailed Work Plan is presented that utilizes the Rational Unified Process and Kutta's proprietary development process. A field test is performed at ASU's Decision Theater for the demonstrated capability of the HCI. Virtual and constructive simulations are created for surveillance and tactical mission scenarios of the HCI DUAS with the Vigilant Spirit UCAV simulator. A live simulation is also detailed for the HCI DUAS with a small UAV. Military and civil markets are identified for the commercialization of the HCI DUAS. Specific target markets of border and coastal patrol, critical infrastructures, natural disaster emergency communications, and commercial telecom are identified.
