Abstract

For Phase II, Kutta leverages its experience in developing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight certifiable software and hardware to build an Air Traffic Control Reporting Schema (ATC-RS) solution. The resulting product provides real-time UAS position reports on the battlefield and in the National Airspace (NAS). The innovative ATC-RS product will assist the Air Force in increasing airspace utilization and situational awareness for all airborne assets – especially small UAS. Kutta’s ATC-RS is a complete UAS position reporting product for the Air Force and commercial market. The ATC-RS includes the ability to report UAS position in three different methods using multiple messaging standards. The ATC-RS combination of military and civilian reporting schemas meets current and future Battlespace and NAS integration requirements. Kutta specifically focused the ATC-RS on the reporting needs of the Small UAS (SUAS) that are currently operating in theater and by designing the ATC-RS to meet the needs of the these highly mobile operators. At the end of the Phase II, Kutta delivers a lightweight, rugged, and mobile ATC-RS with open Interface Control Documents (ICD) to facilitate integration into any UAS and Air Traffic Control system, and that can deliver UAS position reports from anywhere in the world.
