Abstract:
In this SBIR Phase II effort, Los Gatos Research proposes to deliver a diagnostic suite for EOIL applications. The analyzer, which is based on LGR's proprietary Off-Axis ICOS technology, will be capable of making rapid, in-situ measurements of several critical species, including O2(X, a, b), O(3P, 5S), NO, O3, and He(23S, 21S). Subsequent to fabrication and validation, the Phase II instrument will be integrated into the EOIL Test Stand at Kirtland Air Force Base. In Phase I, we have successfully demonstrated technical feasibility by fabricating an Off-Axis ICOS instrument and quantifying several key EOIL species, including O2(X, v = 1) and O(3P). Due to the novelty and importance of the latter measurement, the resulting data was submitted for publication during the Phase I period. Finally, mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers were utilized to measure nitric oxide and ozone. Phase I commercialization activities were focused on the development of a nitric oxide monitor for both medical and industrial applications.
