Abstract:
In coordination with the SPAWAR SYSTEMS CENTER (SSC) located in San Diego, California, Makai Ocean Engineering, Inc. proposes to use numerical modeling in order to evaluate the accuracy and precision of various proposed deployment methods for the installation of Deployable Autonomous Distributed System (DADS) arrays launched from U.S. Navy platforms in littoral waters. The evaluation will focus on specific array parameters (e.g., distribution of weight and drag and the application of point loads) that, in previous studies, have been demonstrated to significantly affect the accuracy and precision of the array installations on the seabed.
