Agency / Branch:
DOD / USAF
Contract:
F09650-03-C-0051
Award Amount:
$500,000.00
Abstract:
A new modular fuel cell powered generator has been developed. The generator is based on a high efficiency fuel cell design and operates without gas humidification. A prototype has been built and demonstrated to Air Force and industry representatives. Ithas been shown that the fuel cell generator has significant advantages over diesel engines. In Phase II, a larger module will be developed and several modules will be built. The modules can be stacked to obtain different power levels. Communicationcapabilities will enable redundant generator arrays. The generators will be enclosed to military standards and independently tested. The generators will be demonstrated for different DoD applications.
