Abstract:
The key need addressed by Blackstone is Algorithm Migration to Accelerate Trusted Capabilities to the Warfighter. At the same time, tremendous costs savings are achieved through Semantic Algorithm Harvesting of reusable assets from the existing multi-billion dollar investment in proven legacy systems. Our approach to meeting the need and associated opportunity for warfighter benefit is to provide a complete engineering support environment for algorithm migration. The Blackstone Toolset for Semantic Algorithm Harvesting will tackle the challenges of algorithm migration by reducing them to an implementation independent form, capturing both semantic context (Migration Model stored as reusable Metadata) and key validation information in a machine processable form. Blackstone capabilities directly support the mission of POR sustainment. During Phase II we will transition the technology to the PM Signals Warfare GRCS program to support capability migration to DCGS-A. With the Blackstone Semantic Algorithm Harvesting techniques, the Army's ISR PORs can accelerate the migration to SOA services and preserve the enormous investment and warfighter trust of today's mission critical functions.
