Abstract

The display of the current E-2C Group O and Group II Combat Information Center (CIC) consoles and the forthcoming AdvancedControl Indicator Set (ACIS) use conventional symbology to representtrack information. Research on sensor fusion proceeds uninformedof the mission use and benefits it will provide to NFOs. MTI proposes to develop and evaluate representations of fused sensor informationthat compatibly informs the NFO of the complete situation,i.e., thelocation, movement, identity, intent, and significance of tracks in the area of concern and not concentrate solely on multidimensional coding of singular representations for single tracks. MTI will review the Hawkeye 2000 hardware and MCU software upgrades, as well as ACIS to determine their ability to support proposed fused sensor representations and the cost of doing so. As developers of the Next Millennium Electronic SurveillanceIntegrated Suite for the E-2C (NEMESIS) MTI is well-informed about the future upgrades, sources of information and missions of the E-2C and has in-house capability to simulate and evaluate representations of fused sensor information.
