Persistent Tactical Seeability Through Integrated Sensor Guidance

Despite recent advances in airframe and sensor technology and improvements in data link reliability, an automatic capability for initializing, planning, and correcting sensor-platform configurations over time has not emerged. If the capability of sensor guided flight can be achieved, it will relieve human operators of the burden they face when continuously engaged in many aspects of UAV RSTA missions and enable the sensing-system itself to optimize its own behavior for a given mission. Mosaic ATM is pleased to propose an innovative Phase II effort that prototypes and delivers a Tactical SeeabilityT Demonstrator system featuring dual-gimbaled EO/IR imagers, 3rd party video exploitation, and an interoperable Tactical SeeabilityT Box that provides a powerful new capability for sensor guided flight. Our approach makes extensive use of an advanced simulation environment enhanced during Phase I and features flight tests over rugged terrain during year two. The Mosaic team brings a suite of mature software modules that can be rapidly assembled to achieve levels of sensor guided flight. Our ability to integrate capabilities onto an interoperable Tactical SeeabilityT Box during Phase II provides the Mosaic team with an advanced point of departure.
