An Extensible Framework for Rapid Fuselet Composition

We propose to design an object-oriented scripting language that enables the discovery and rapid assembly of publish-subscribe fuselets through ontology-aware query on both data and program metadata, to implement it in an extensible manner by mapping ontoexisting interpreters and runtime infrastructures using source-to-source-transformation and library extensions, and to design and implement monitoring support which can serve as the foundation for an interactive development environment for discovery-basedfuselet assembly. The provision of semantically conservative extensions which realize advanced query and discovery capabilities is vital to the effective integration of evolving COTS scripting and XML technologies into the next generation of battlefieldinformation systems, and will have broad applicability in the larger arenas of document retrieval and networked computation.
