Abstract:
We propose to develop a CAD tool for the automated synthesis of analog/RF device models and analog/RF circuits. In the Phase I of the project, we will focus on parameter optimization. To achieve the desirable optimization performance using a reasonable amount of CPU time, the proposed tool will combine the genetic algorithm with local search techniques. VHDL-AMS language will be exploited as a unified means to specify both models and circuits. During the Phase I of the project, we will explore genetic programming for automated model creation and circuit synthesis. The same tool will apply to the optimization and synthesis of behavioral models for analog and RF subcircuits, and is useful for full system verification and prototyping.
