Abstract

This program will develop and execute a test matrix to identify the thrust that can be obtained in space, using both nanosecond and Joule-level ultrashort pulse lasers. This information will be used to identify missions which can be supported by laser-propulsion techniques either from ground- or space-based sources. The data will be analyzed and delivered together with candidate platform and system designs. Dual-use applications will also be explored.
