Title:
Ion Mobility Spectrometry-Based Continuous Emissions Monitoring System for Multiple Metals
Agency:
DOE
Contract:
DE-FG03-01ER83296
Award Amount:
$99,987.00
Abstract:
65399 Molybdenum silicide composites, materials that could have significant impact on many advanced energy systems, have poor oxidation resistance and fracture toughness. This project will develop new and improved powders to provide both ductile metal additions and Boron necessary for oxidation resistance. Phase I will demonstrate feasibility by investigating T2 MoSiB alloys, from the powders to the final consolidated composite. Tasks will include powder characterization, manufacture, and consolidation. Commercial Applications And Other Benefits as described by awardee: Successful development should lead to improved high temperature materials for engine, airframe, and auto applications.
