Abstract:
This Phase II SBIR program will complete development of closed-cell SiC foam TPS materials suitable for application to Hypersonic Cruise Vehicles for application up to 450BTU/ft2/sec. Specifically, the program will take these high strenth, high temperature TPS materials from a TRL of 2-3, to a TRL of 5-6 (flight-ready) by completing manufacturing process refinement/materials optimization, building a materials property database, completing TPS sizing analysis, and producing and testing wedge models in the IHF 60MW ground test facility.Small Business Information at Submission:POWDERMET, INC.
