Abstract:
The Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) Program is the most widely recognized Navy program for in port netted training. The operational fleet desires to achieve a Netted at-sea based team training capability. Progeny Systems has technologies that allowus to propose innovative bandwidth management techniques, data compression technologies, as well as system architecture and fielding approaches to support the BFTT at Sea efforts. Our communication management and data compression techniques have beensuccessfully during numerous at-sea exercises, including the Advanced Undersea Warfare Concept (AUSWC) system demonstration in August 2000, as well as Fleet Battle Experiments Juliet and Kilo. Our data compression techniques were designed to providereliable battle group connectivity solutions for a variety of platforms, bandwidth levels (from 2.4 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps), RF communication channels, and, most importantly, to maintain reliable communications given the unreliable nature of at-seacommunications. Through the adaptation of these data compression, data prioritization and data extraction algorithms to the BFTT at Sea efforts, we will provide the communications and data management infrastructure to support robust, reliable andmeasurable at-sea training for the Warfighter.
