Title:
Development of Very Long Wave Infrared Detectors Based on Type-II Strained Layer Superlattices
Agency / Branch:
DOD / MDA
Contract:
W9113M-09-C-0023
Award Amount:
$1,000,000.00
Abstract:
QmagiQ and the University of New Mexico (UNM) propose to combine their respective strengths in focal plane array (FPA) design/fabrication and InAs/GaSb strained layer superlattice (SLS) material growth to develop high quantum efficiency very longwave infrared (VLWIR) FPAs with cutoff wavelength > 14 microns. UNM will optimize VLWIR SLS material growth and QmagiQ will focus on converting the UNM material into high-performance FPAs. QmagiQ will also package one FPA into a handheld camera for field testing. Sample FPAs and the camera will be delivered to MDA at program conclusion.
