Abstract:
There is an inherent conflict between the goal of high performance networking and secure networking. This conflict is especially due to the fact that attackers are increasingly using application-level attack vectors. Thus, a need exists for strong, low-latency, high-throughput network security capabilities. This project will develop a new architecture for network security based on an innovative application-level security system and sophisticated middleware for effectively managing Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices dynamically at run-time. Commercial Applications and other Benefits as described by the awardeeThe new architecture should help protect key government and scientific applications and research data on DOE high performance computing machines, and systems at the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense (DOD). Commercial applications include data centers, and the energy and financial sectors.
