Abstract:
This SBIR Phase II project proposes to develop FireStudio, a graphical user interface (GUI) that provides an easy-to-use interface for fire simulation analysis and training. FireStudio will include support for a hierarchy of fire modeling tools, ranging from fast running zonal and empirical models (e.g., CFAST) to detailed CFD models (e.g., FDS). FireStudio will be designed for use by the non-modeling expert and will contain all of the tools required to perform a fire simulation and to view the results in an intuitive environment that is robust, flexible and extensible. FireStudio will significantly reduce the human time and effort to setup, execute and analyze a fire simulation. FireStudio will be a unique and powerful tool for performing fire modeling in a more efficient and robust manner than previously possible. Furthermore, FireStudio will provide a means for putting fire modeling capability into the hands of a broader range of engineers performing FPE analysis and will provide a novel tool to help train firefighters.Small Business Information at Submission:REACTION ENGINEERING INTERNATIONAL
