Advanced Constrained Optimization Algorithms Utilizing Next Generation Processors

C2BMC systems must perform rapid automatic development of plans to assign and employ weapons in the face of BMD attacks; the systems that produce these plans are based on advanced constrained optimization solvers for extremely large problem instances. This proposal outlines a path toward developing scalable constrained optimization algorithm implementations utilizing next generation computational hardware. Specifically, we propose to investigate and develop algorithms that fuse some of the best features of propositional logic solvers with optimization algorithms for assignment and shortest path planning, and do to so in a manner that is amenable to parallelization and utilization of computational accelerators. The resulting technology will be exported as an open interface web service for a net centric planning architecture. The research and development will be performed with partner Lockheed Martin MS2, developers of the Aegis BMD capabilities.
